“My husband and I met through mutual friends once we were both out of high school. We went to the same high school but never crossed paths. He proposed when we were on vacation in Montana to visit my dad. We were looking at the mountains and the dam, and I was taking a picture saying ‘This is beautiful!’, and my husband had said ‘Isn’t it?’, and got down on one knee. I didn’t notice until he told me to turn around and he asked me to marry him and all I said is ‘ Is this real life?’ – I was in shock and couldn’t believe it was happening…I felt like I blacked out. “
Tell us about your dress journey!
“My bridal style was kind of laid back but classy. The dress I bought was the first dress I ever found online when I started looking as to what I was looking for. First time trying it on while shopping at Bon Bon Belle, I loved it but it felt a little plain for what I was going for and then I added and belt and knew my look was complete and brought my vision to life. My shopping experience was amazing and emotional.”
how was your wedding?
“Our wedding was amazing and if anything went wrong I didn’t even notice. We didn’t have too much of a theme. Our venue was the Starline Factory in Harvard, IL. It has brick and wood beams and old equipment from the factory it used to be. Our room had the oiled boiler room in it and it was turned into a greenhouse, and that’s was sold us on the venue knowing we can get first look pictures in there. One of the most special moments was reading out vows privately in the greenhouse where it was just us and the photographer and videographer. Another moment was popping a champagne bottle with our wedding party after walking down the aisle after becoming husband and wife. We felt so loved by everyone who came and celebrated us.”
